Pushing The Boundaries Of Function And Form
Koh Samui is arguably one of Thailand’s most
stunning locations, with white sandy beaches and
turquoise waters set against a backdrop of palm trees
and a terrain of smooth boulders. These boulders
were the primary inspiration for Anamaya’s design
team, led by Misha Povstaniuk of architects A-MDM,
as they set out to create a contemporary tropical
living style that blends perfectly with the surrounding
From the sea, the curve of Anamaya’s
villas resembles clouds hovering above the hills, while
the interior design brings the surrounding landscape
into the expansive living areas. Anamaya presents
us with a glimpse of how to push the boundaries of
design, style and functionality.
For innovative designs to work and be a success, astute care and
attention is needed. Perfect finish is essential as flaws can be easily
spotted and immediately detract from the overall look. This is why
revolutionary construction 3D printing is being utilised to create the
Anamaya villas, a technique the team are pioneering on Koh Samui.
3D printing of complex elements using polymer concrete allows
precise shapes and sizes to be produced that make up the fabric
of the building, something that traditional building methods would
not be able to achieve. Not only can amazing shapes be created
with beautiful curves and intense detail, polymer concrete is strong,
durable and easy to maintain, ensuring that Anamaya remains
looking at its best for many years to come.
Sitting on the hillside and peak of the Samui peninsula, Anamaya
consists of 9 villa styles with between 3 and 7 guest bedrooms
together with 2 bedroom penthouse and loft-style apartments.
Owners and guest will have access to the exclusive Anamaya Club
with rooftop restaurant, health & beauty spa, business centre and
children’s daycare facility.
Many of the villas come equipped with a recreation room, private
digital cinema and gymnasium. The largest villas also incorporate
service kitchens, staff quarters and an abundance of entertaining
Weddings and events will be fully catered for with a dedicated villa
set in 2,000m² of sunset facing gardens. All villas have enviable
panoramic sea views and private pools, with the largest villas each
